Conference opening wins
Four American Conference teams came away with wins during the opening weekend of conference play last week. Charlotte, FIU, Missouri State and South Florida all started off on the right foot, earning wins to get three points. Missouri State and FIU will play each other this Sunday at 6 p.m. ET as teams look to gain an advantage over one another.
Shiraishi among national leaders
Missouri State’s Fumiya Shiraishi continues his strong season, having scored eight goals in five matches. He added two more goals last week and is tied for second in the nation in total goals and first in the nation in points per game (3.00).
49ERS PREP FOR FURMAN
With a conference bye this weekend, Charlotte will prepare for a matchup against No. 15/3 Furman on Monday, September 22 at 7 p.m. ET. The 49ers look to gain a signature win when they travel to Greenville, South Carolina.
BULLS STRONG SEASON
Seven matches into the season and the South Florida Bulls have yet to be defeated, owning a 3-0-4 record. The Bulls have been guided by back-to-back American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week Jahiem Wickham, who is 25th in the nation with 26 saves on the year. They will look to continue their ways on Sunday when they travel to Tulsa for an 8 p.m. ET matchup.
