ROADRUNNERS STAND ALONE
Six games into conference play and the UTSA Roadrunners stand alone in first place as the final undefeated team in conference action at 6-0. UTSA took down Memphis on the road to begin the week, 70-68 and will travel to UAB on Saturday to take on the Blazers at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
LAMPKIN POWERS MEAN GREEN PAST BULLS
North Texas senior forward Tommisha Lampkin put on a show on Saturday to help the Mean Green deliver the first conference loss to South Florida. Lampkin finished with season-high 29 points on 11-fo-12 shooting, while adding 8 rebounds. The win kept the Mean Green a game back of first place in The American.
BLAZERS CATCH FIRE
After falling in the first three games in conference play, UAB has hit a hot streak, winning their last three games. The Blazers are coming off a one-point win over South Florida in Tampa as Jade Weathersby hit the game-winner with five second remaining. UAB will host first-place UTSA on Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
ROADRUNNERS OFF TO HISTORIC START
The UTSA Roadrunners are off to their best start in program history with a 15-2 record. Now sitting at 6-0 in conference play, it is their best start to conference play since 1983-84. They have also won 10 straight home games, including a perfect 7-0 record this year. The 10 home games is the second longest home winning streak in program history.
AMERICAN IN THE NET
Two teams rank in the Top 100 of the current NET rankings with UTSA leading the pack at 63. South Florida is just behind at 72, while Temple sits just outside the Top 100 at 103.
