CONFERENCE PLAY COMMENCES
American Athletic Conference play will begin this week, with the first match happening on Wednesday at Wichita State travels to Memphis to take on the Tigers at 7 p.m. ET. The remainder of the matches will take place on Friday (September 27) and Sunday (September 29).
PIRATES, OWLS FACE OFF
East Carolina and Florida Atlantic head into conference play with the two best records in the league. At 7-3, the Pirates will travel to Boca Raton on Friday to take on the 8-4 Owls. Florida Atlantic is riding a three match winning streak and hold a 6-1 record at home.
GREEN WAVE WINNING STREAK
Tulane enters conference play as one of the hottest teams in the league, owning a five-match winning streak. The Green Wave will host preseason favorite Rice on Friday at 6 p.m. ET to begin conference play before traveling to Denton to take on North Texas on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
HENSLEY PACING THE OWLS
Florida Atlantic setter Victoria Hensley has helped guide the Owls to an 8-4 record this season. The American Setter of the Week this week, Hensley is currently ranked 5th in the NCAA in total assists with 501.
DAVENPORT AMONG THE BEST
Tempe outside hitter Taylor Davenport continues her impressive season, ranking in the Top 20 in the NCAA in multiple categories. She is 14th in total kills (190), 15th in kills per set (4.52), 18th in total points (212.5), and 20th in points per set (5.06). Davenport and the Owls will begin conference play with back-to-back road matches this weekend, traveling to Wichita State on Friday before heading to Tulsa to take on the Golden Hurricane on Sunday.
