ON DECK IN THE AMERICAN
This weekend will feature some key match ups as the season heads into the final month of play. On Friday night, East Carolina will travel to Houston to take on Rice at 5:30 p.m. ET. The Pirates hold a 9-2 record in The American and lead the East Division, while the Owls sit at 7-3 and in third place in the West Division. On Saturday, South Florida will take on West-leading SMU at 2 p.m. ET. The Bulls are in second place in the West Division.

East Carolina has been dominant at the net in conference play this season, leading The American in team blocks per set (2.69), while also holding opponents to a league-low 1.60 blocks per set.
CASSADAY STILL AMONG NATION’S LEADERS
Tulsa’s Kayley Cassaday is one of two players in the nation to average over five kills per set. On the season she is second in the nation with 5.10 kills per set and 14.34 attacks per set, while ranking third with 5.54 points per set.
THE AMERICAN IN THE RPI
Six American Athletic Conference schools currently rank in the Top 100 in the latest RPI rankings. SMU (22) and Wichita State (48), both with on loss in conference play are ranked in the Top 50. Rice (56), East Carolina (94), Tulsa (97) and Temple (98) round out the Top 100.
