SOUTH FLORIDA OVERTAKES THE EAST
With a sweep of East Carolina last weekend, the South Florida Bulls moved into first place in the East Division. They will have another tough match up this weekend, facing second place Florida Atlantic on Thursday and Friday. The Bulls can clinch a share of the East Division title with a split against the Owls and win it outright with a sweep of Florida Atlantic.
MUSTANGS LOOK TO CLINCH TITLE
The SMU Mustangs need just one win to clinch a share of the American Athletic Conference Championship and the automatic qualifier for the conference. Riding an 11-match winning streak, the Mustangs will have two opportunities this weekend with a pair of home matches against North Texas on Friday and Saturday.
KALSU DOING IT ALL FOR TULSA
Tulsa senior setter has been busy for the Golden Hurricane. Last week, she paced Tulsa to a win over Memphis, averaging 12.5 assists per set, while also finishing with five digs per set on the defensive side.
MEAN GREEN SWEEP RICE
North Texas moved into third place in the West Division with a sweep over Rice, which feature two five-set matches. North Texas hit a combined .264 in the two matches against Rice, the highest attack percentage allowed by the Owls in conference play this season.
AMERICAN IN THE RPI
Four American schools are in the Top 100 of the NCAA RPI rankings as of October 29. SMU leads the way at 25, followed by Wichita State (55), Rice (61) and North Texas (91).
