South Florida’s perfect week
The South Florida Bulls went a perfect 7-0 last week, improving their record to 10-2 on the season. They outscored their opponents 57- 12 during the winning streak. The Bulls will play six more games in Tampa this week, ending their 18-game home stretch to start the season.
Pirates take down boston
East Carolina had an impressive showing last weekend, defeating No. 22 Boston U twice. Freshman pitcher Kendall Frost tossed two complete games against BU, allowing just one run in the wins.
DUGAR THROWS MIDWEEK NO-HITTER
Memphis had two dominant displays on Tuesday, defeating Mississippi Valley State in double-head action by scores of 8-0 and 19-0. Rylee Dugar tossed the program’s 14th no-hitter. In the second game, the Tigers scored 16 runs in the second inning, the most in a single inning in program history.
DOUBLING-DOWN
Two American Athletic Conference teams rank in the Top 10 in the NCAA in double plays turned this year. South Florida is 5th in the country with eight double-plays turned. North Texas is ranked 9th in the country with seven double-plays turned.
TIGERS EXPLOSIVE OFFENSE
The Memphis Tigers have one of the top offenses in the country early on in the season. Memphis ranks 10th in the NCAA in batting average (.380), 11th in doubles (21), 5th in hits (113), 11th in runs batted in (78), 10th in total runs (92) and 13th in runs scored per game (8.4.)
