OWLS LOOK TO regular season title and top seed
The Florida Atlantic Owls are just one win away from clinching an outright American Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming American Softball Championship. At 20-4 in conference play, South Florida is the lone team that can catch the Owls. Florida Atlantic will travel to Tulsa for their final series.
Mean green, bulls provides sparks
In the battle between second and third place in The American, North Texas and South Florida did not disappoint. The Bulls took the series two games to one with the final game of the series going to 10 innings with South Florida taking the game 15-14 to take the series. The Bulls now hold the upper hand on getting a bye to the semifinals in The American Championship, holding a 1.5 game lead over the Mean Green for the 2nd place spot.
OWLS EXPLODE FOR 24 RUNS
Florida Atlantic scored 24 runs in the series opening win against Memphis, including 10 in the first inning. The 24 runs marked the most in a single-game in FAU history
CLOSE IT OUT
The American Athletic Conference has the top two closers in the nation this season in Florida Atlantic’s Ainsley Lambert and South Florida’s Belle Sardja. Lambert and Sardja enter the final games of the regular season tied with the national lead in saves with nine.
LATEST RPI RANKINGS
Five American Athletic Conference teams rank in the top 61 in the latest NCAA RPI Rankings. Florida Atlantic sits atop the conference at 29, while South Florida is at 37. North Texas comes in at 44, followed by Charlotte (55) and Wichita State (61). The American is the 5th ranked conference in RPI behind only the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten.
