OWLS LOOK TO CLINCH SHARE OF REGULAR SEASON AMERICAN TITLE
The Florida Atlantic Owls have a chance to clinch The American regular season championship this weekend but will need some help doing so. The Owls will need to sweep Memphis, while North Texas will need to win their series against South Florida two games to one.
Mean green, bulls collide
A heavyweight series is on deck in Denton as third place North Texas hosts second place South Florida. They both sit at 15 wins in conference play, but a tie give the Bulls the advantage in the standings. First pitch for the opening game of the series is schedule for Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
CONLEY’S BIG WEEK
North Texas’ Madison Conley had a monster week at the plate for the Mean Green in their sweep over UAB. She slugged 1.556, hitting four extra base hits including two home runs. She finished the week with eight runs batted in.

The American Athletic Conference has the top two closers in the nation this season in Florida Atlantic’s Ainsley Lambert and South Florida’s Belle Sardja. Lambert is first in the nation with 9 saves, while Sardja is second in the nation with 8 saves.

Five American Athletic Conference teams rank in the top 65 in the latest NCAA RPI Rankings. Florida Atlantic sits atop the conference at 27, while South Florida is at 41. North Texas comes in at 43, followed by Charlotte (49) and Wichita State (62). The American is the 5th ranked conference in RPI behind only the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten.
