Memphis Downs Niners

In a battle of two undefeated teams, the Memphis Tigers emerged victorious in last Saturday’s clash against No. 9 Charlotte, defeating the 49ers 1-0. It marks the first loss of the season for Charlotte and gives Memphis a three-point lead in the standings as they remain the lone undefeated team in conference play.

Panthers, Niners Clash in Charlotte

Two teams tied for second place will battle it out on Saturday, October 12 as FIU will travel to Charlotte to take on the 49ers. The Panthers have won the past three matches against Charlotte.

Stifling Tigers Defense

The Memphis Tigers defense has been stout over the past six games. Five of the games resulted in wins, while the other was a tie. The Tigers have not allowed more than one goal in six straight games, dating back to September 8. Memphis will travel to Philadelphia to take on Temple this weekend.

Charlotte Remains in the Rankings

Despite the loss to Memphis, the Charlotte 49ers are still ranked, coming in at No. 22 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and No. 24 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll.

NCAA RPI

Five American squads enter the week in the Top 100 in the NCAA RPI. Charlotte leads all teams at No. 13, followed by FIU (42), UAB (75), Memphis (88) and South Florida (97).
