TULANE’S CONSISTENT START
With an 84-51 win over Alcorn State on Monday night, November 11, Tulane has started its third consecutive season 3-0 and has opened the season 3-0 in five of six seasons under head coach Ron Hunter.
COMEBACK CATS
Memphis has been behind in both of its games this season, but have come back to win both contests. Memphis was down 14 to Missouri on the opening night of the season and came back to win 83-75 at FedExForum on November 4. The Tigers were down 12 in the first half on November 9, but came from behind to win, 80-74, over UNLV in Las Vegas.
HILL’S BIG DEBUT FOR THE SHOCKERS
Justin Hill scored 31 points in his Wichita State debut, as the Shockers defeated Western Kentucky on the road, 91-84, on November 9. His 31 points are the most ever by a Shocker in a debut.
It was also the first true road game to open a season for the Shockers since 1992, and first game away from the Roundhouse to start a campaign since 2003 when Wichita State started the season at the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
