BIG WEEK FOR MEMPHIS, HUNTER
Memphis went into the Maui Invitational and took down defending national champion UConn, 99-97 in overtime, on Monday, November 25. The next day, the Tigers defeated Michigan State, 71-63, to advance to the final, where they fell to No. 4 Auburn.
Tyrese Hunter was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 20.0 points, including 14-for-24 (.583) from behind the arc. Hunter was named American Player of the Week as well as being named one of the five Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week.
For their efforts, Memphis moved into the AP Top 25 for the first time this season at No. 16 and the USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 15.
CLAMPING DOWN ON DEFENSE
North Texas ranks fourth in Division I in scoring defense at 56.3 points per game allowed. The Mean Green are 15th in steals per game at 10.5 and lead The American in turnover margin at +4.8 per contest.

Memphis leads Division I in 3-point field goal percentage at 46.9 percent and is led by Tyrese Hunter, who is shooting 52.4 percent from behind the arc.

East Carolina is 7-1 for the first time since the 2020-21 season and is seeking to improve to 8-1 for the first time since 2008-09 with a win against UNCW on Tuesday, December 3.
