American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 16.

Player of the Week

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin averaged 25.5 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 74 percent from the field in a pair of wins for the Mean Green. She tied a career-high 29 points in the road win over Tulsa.

Freshman of the Week

Aniah Alexis, Fr., G, Rice

Aniah recorded her first 20-point game on the road against South Florida. On the week, she averaged 15.5 points and four rebounds for the Owls.

Honorable Mention

Amiya Joyner, Jr., F, East Carolina

Joyner averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds, while going 12-for-14 from the line in two games.

Mya Perry, Jr., G, Florida Atlantic

Perry scored a team-high 22 points, while shooting 44 percent form the field in the game against South Florida

Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida

Puisis hit the game-tying shot to send the game to overtime before connecting on the go-ahead three-pointer in triple overtime to secure the win over the Owls.

Jaleesa Molina, So., F, Temple

Molina led the Owls to a pair of wins, averaging 16.5 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 64 percent from the field.

Jordyn Jenkins, Gr., F, UTSA

Jenkins led the Roadrunners to a pair of wins, averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
