American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, January 19.

Player of the Week

Jordyn Jenkins, R-Sr., F, UTSA

Jenkins earns her third consecutive Player of the Week honor, leading the Roadrunners to a pair of road wins over Memphis and UAB, averaging 19 points and 9.5 rebounds.  In the comeback win against Memphis, Jenkins scored 17 points and brought down 10 rebounds, before logging 21 points and nine rebounds in the win over the Blazers.

Freshman of the Week

Devin Hagemann, Fr., G, East Carolina

Hagemann averaged 13 points and four assists in games against Charlotte and Rice. In the win over Rice, the freshman guard scored 16 points on 62 percent shooting and dished out six assists.

Honorable Mention

Anzhane’ Hutton, Gr., F, East Carolina

Hutton averaged a double-double in two games for the Pirates, scoring 18.5 points and grabbing 10.5 rebounds per game.

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin led the Mean Green to a pair of wins over Rice and Wichita State, averaging 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Carla Brito, Jr., F, South Florida

Brito averaged a double-double in a pair of games for the Bulls, posting 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds.

Tarriyonna Gary, Gr., G, Temple

Gary led the Owls to a win over Charlottes, scoring 18 points and dishing out five assists.

Hadley Periman, Jr., G/F, Tulsa

Periman scored 10 points and posted 17 rebounds in the Gold Hurricane’s win over Florida Atlantic.
