American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, December 22.

Player of the Week

Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida

Puisis led the Bulls to a win over No. 9/10 Duke on Saturday, scoring 23 points to lead all scorers. It marked the first top 10 win for the Bulls since 2021 and the first win over a ranked opponent since 2022. Puisis went 3-for-3 from behind the line and perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

Freshman of the Week

Kendall Sneed, Fr., G, Tulane

Sneed led Tulane to a pair of wins over Alabama A&M and ULM in the Tulane Holiday Tournament, averaging 13.5 points and four rebounds. She scored 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting with five assists in the win over ULM.

Honorable Mention

Amiya Joyner, Jr., F, East Carolina

Joyner scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a win over UNCW, her second 30 point/15 rebound performance of the season.

Sidney Love, Jr., G, UTSA

Love led UTSA to wins over Texas State and UT Arlington. She scored 21 points in the win over the Mavericks.

Amira Mabry, Jr., F, Tulane

Mabry recorded a 21 point, 12 rebound double-double in the Green Wave’s win over ULM.

Delanie Crawford, Sr., G, Tulsa

Crawford averaged 21.5 point across two games, including a season-high 26 points in the win over Montana.

Salese Blow, So., G, Wichita State

Blow scored 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting in the Wichita State’s road win over CSU Bakersfield.
