American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, December 8.

Player of the Week

Tiarra East, Sr., G, Temple

East led the Owls to a road win over Villanova, scoring 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting, while adding five rebounds and two assists. The win secured the Big 5 Classic Championship for Temple.

Freshman of the Week

Erin Rodgers, Fr., G, Florida Atlantic

Rodgers had a team-high 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting in Florida Atlantic’s road game against No. 9 TCU.

Honorable Mention

Kenna Rembert, Jr., F, Charlotte

Rembert had 12 points and 8 rebounds in a win over Mercer, including the game-winning shot with 35 seconds left.

Khia Miller, So., G, East Carolina

Miller posted a career-high 24 points in the win over Elon, shooting 62 percent from the field.

Ereauna Hardaway, Jr., G, North Texas

Hardaway set a career-high in points in back-to-back games, scoring 18 against Tennessee State, before scoring 21 in the win over Southern Illinois.

Jordyn Jenkins, R-Sr., F, UTSA

Jenkins recorded a double-double, recording 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Sam Houston.

Elise Hill, So., G, Tulsa

Hill scored a team-leading 18 points, while adding five assists and six rebounds in the win over Grambling.
