American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 17.

Player of the Week

Jordyn Jenkins, R-Sr., G/F, UTSA

Jenkins had an impressive week for the Roadrunners, averaging 28.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of wins. She posted a pair of double-doubles, including a weekend-high 30 point, 12 rebound double-double.

Freshman of the Week

Erin Rodgers, Fr., G, Florida Atlantic

Rodgers earns a second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor, helping lead the Owls to a pair of victories. She averaged 14 points on 63 percent shooting, while adding 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Honorable Mention

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin posted a 22 point, 13 rebound double-double in the North Texas win over Abilene Christian.

Dominique Ennis, Jr., G, Rice

Ennis helped guide the Owls to three wins on the week, averaging 13 points and five rebounds.

Tiarra East, Sr., G, Temple

East averaged 18.5 points and five rebounds in a pair of road wins for Temple.

Sherese Pittman, Sr., F, Tulane

Pittman averaged 18 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Green Wave, while posting six steals in the win over Grambling.

Taylor Jameson, Gr., G, Wichita State

Jameson averaged 17 points, 6.5 assists and four steals in a pair of games for the Shockers.
