American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 10.

Player of the Week

Tommisha Lampkin, Sr., F, North Texas

Lampkin led the Mean Green to a pair of wins to begin the season, averaging a double-double with 17 points and 12.5 rebounds. In the season opener against Alcorn, she scored 23 points and came down with 13 rebounds, including nine offensive rebounds.

Freshman of the Week

Erin Rodgers, Fr., G, Florida Atlantic

Rodgers averaged 10 points and five rebounds in a pair of games for the Owls. In the win over Mercer, she scored 11 points, while adding eight rebounds.

Weekly Honor Roll

Jade Weathersby, So., F, UAB

Weathersby scored 20 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, while adding 12 rebounds in UAB’s season opening win over West Alabama.

Jayla Hearp, So., G, East Carolina

Hearp averaged 18 points, including a career-high 21 points in the season opening win over Charleston Southern.

Hannah Riddick, Sr., F, Memphis

Riddick opened the season with a 26-point, 17 rebound outing to lead the Tigers to a season opening win over Mississippi Valley State.

Sussy Ngulefac, Sr., C, Rice

Ngulefac recorded a double-double, scoring 19 points and recording 10 rebounds in Rice’s win over North Carolina A&T.

Sammie Puisis, Gr., G, South Florida

Puisis averaged 16 points to lead the Bulls to a 2-1 record on opening week. She had a season-best 25 points in the win over Mount St. Mary’s.
