American Athletic Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 12.

Player of the Week

Delanie Crawford, Jr., G, Tulsa

Crawford opened the season in dominating fashion, scoring 35 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a Golden Hurricane win over Lindenwood. Crawford went 13-for-15 at the charity stripe in the win. She followed up with a 22-point performance against New Orleans.

Freshman of the Week

Karina Gordon, Fr., G, East Carolina

Gordon averaged 10 points per game for the Pirates in a pair of wins to open the season.  She ended the week with an 11-point outing on 4-of-5 shooting, while adding three steals and three assists in the win over USC Upstate.

Weekly Honor Roll

Mia Moore, R-So., G, UAB

Moore scored 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting, while adding six rebounds and two steals in a win over Alabama A&M.

Danae McNeal, Gr., G, East Carolina

McNeal averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 steals in a pair of wins for the Pirates. She finished with seven steals in the win over USC Upstate.

Aniya Hubbard, So., G, Florida Atlantic

Hubbard scored 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting for the Owls, while adding nine rebounds and two assists against Mercer.

Jaaucklyn Moore, Sr., G, North Texas

Moore averaged 19.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds for the Mean Green, which included a 24-point outing against Grambling State.

Carola Brito, So., W, South Florida

Brito averaged 15 points and eight rebounds for the Bulls and recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double against Stetson.
