IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 3.
Offensive Player of the Week
Morgan Stout, R-Sr., MB, Wichita State
Stout had another impressive week, leading the Shockers in a sweep of Tulsa. She averaged 5.44 points per set and 1.50 blocks per set in two wins.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Galligan, Jr., L, Wichita State
Galligan led all American Athletic Conference players in digs per set, finishing with 6.00 digs per set in two wins over Tulsa.
Setter of the Week
Caroline Dykes, Sr., S, South Florida
Dykes averaged 12.71 assists per set, while adding four service aces. She finished with over 40 assists in both matches, including 48 assists in the 3-1 win over Florida Atlantic.
Freshman of the Week
Savannah Skopal, Fr., S, Rice
Skopal paced the Owls with 12.83 assists per set, which included a weekend-high 40 assists in the 3-0 win over UTSA.
Honorable Mention
Ellie Pate, So., OH, East Carolina
Pate led the Pirates to two wins, averaging 4.71 points per set while hitting .269.
Kaitlyn Knobbe, Sr., MB, Rice
Knobbe paced the Owls with 4.75 points per set in wins over Charlotte and UTSA
Lademi Ogunlana, So., MB, Rice
Ogunlana led the Owls on defense, finishing with 1.50 blocks per set while adding 2.67 kills per set on offense.
Maria Clara Andrade, Jr., OH, South Florida
Andrade helped guide the Bulls to a pair of wins, averaging 4.71 points per set, extending her streak of double-digit kills to 17 matches.
Lia Schneider, So., L, South Florida
Schneider anchored the South Florida defense with 5.86 digs per set in wins over Florida Atlantic and Temple.
