IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 12.
Offensive Player of the Week
Kayley Cassaday, Gr., OH, Tulsa
Cassaday put on a show in the Golden Hurricane 3-1 win over Memphis, finishing with 28 kills on 71 attacks to hit .239 in the match. The outside hitter added 15 digs and three blocks to finish with 30.5 points and a double-double.
Defensive Player of the Week
Valeria Rosado, Jr., OH/RS, Florida Atlantic
Rosado led the Owls to a pair of wins over Charlotte and was a menace on the defensive side. She averaged 3.22 digs per set and .78 blocks per set. In the second match against the 49ers, Rosado finished with 18 digs and five blocks.
Weekly Honor Roll
Maria Clara Andrade, So., OH, South Florida
Clara Andrade finished with 5.94 points per set and had back-to-back matches with over 20 kills.
Jamison Wheeler, Sr., OH, SMU
Wheeler led the Mustangs to two wins over Tulane, finishing with four kills per set.
Avery Kalsu, Sr., S, Tulsa
Kalsu averaged five digs per set, while adding 12.5 assists per set for the Golden Hurricane.
Taylor Davenport, Sr., OH, Temple
Davenport hit .371 and ended the week with 4.38 kills per set in a pair of wins over UAB.
Sophia Rohling, Sr., OPP, Wichita State
Rohling hit .444 on the week while averaging 4.29 kills per set in two wins over UTSA.
