American Athletic Conference Announces Softball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, April 20.

Player of the Week

Madison Conley, So., UTL, North Texas

Conley slashed .667/.667/1.556 in the sweep over UAB.  She had a hit in every game and at least two RBI in each game, including four RBI in Sunday’s 7-3 win over UAB.  Conley added two home runs on the week, finishing with 8 RBI and two runs scored.

Pitcher of the Week

Belle Sardja, Sr., South Florida

Sardja finished with two wins and a save as the Bulls earned a home sweep over Memphis. She tossed 11 innings in the circle, surrendering just five hits and finishing with a 0.00 ERA. She finished with three strikeouts for the weekend.

Honorable Mention

Jenna Lord, R-Jr., INF, Charlotte

Lord finished with five RBI and six runs scored, helping the 49ers earn a series win over UTSA.

Autumn Courtney, Jr., P, Florida Atlantic

Courtney struck out 14 batters across 14 innings in the circle, picking up two wins for the Owls against East Carolina.

Jesiana Mora, Jr., 3B, Florida Atlantic

Mora finished with a hit in every game for the Owls, ending the weekend sweep with a .462 batting average.

Skylar Savage, Sr., P, North Texas

Savaged earned a pair of wins for the Mean Green, finishing with a 1.50 ERA across 14 innings in the circle.

Alexa Galligani, Jr., OF, South Florida

Galligani finished with a hit in every game, while adding five RBI and two runs scored in the series sweep of Memphis.
