American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the matches of the week ending Sunday, October 29.

Offensive Player of the Week

Felix Ewald, So., F, Temple

Ewald had an impressive night for the Owls, scoring two goals and assisting on another to lift Temple past Tulsa 5-1 and keep the Owls in contention for a spot in The American Men’s Soccer Championship.

Defensive Player of the Week

Kyran Chambron Pinho, Jr., D, SMU

Chambron Pinho anchored a Mustang defense that allowed just one shot on goal against UAB, while also scoring the game-winning goal in the 47th minute off a free kick to earn SMU a share of The American regular season championship.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Tyler Hogan, Gr., FIU

Hogan earned one save in a 2-0 win over Charlotte to move the Panthers into second place in The American and keep the Panthers hopes for a second straight regular season championship alive.

Rookie of the Week

Anders Bordoy, Fr., M, Memphis

Bordoy helped the Tigers clinch a spot in The American Men’s Soccer Championship with a pair of assists in the 2-1 win over South Florida.

Weekly Honor Roll

JD Gunn, Gr., GK, Memphis

Gunn finished with four saves in the net for the Tigers to clinch a spot in The American Men’s Soccer Championship next week.

Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos, Jr., M, Memphis
