American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the matches of the week ending Sunday, September 24.

Offensive Player of the Week

Jelldrik Dallmann, Gr., F, SMU

Dallman helped the No. 6 SMU Mustangs move to 2-0 in The American with a 2-1 win over South Florida, scoring both goals in the win. Dallman scored the game-winning goal with a penalty kick in the 59th minute.

Defensive Player of the Week

Lasse Laursen, Jr., D, Charlotte

Laursen garners back-to-back honors after helping the 49ers finish with a pair of shutouts over Davidson and Florida Atlantic. Charlotte allowed just six shots on goal in the two wins.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Cole Johnson, Sr., SMU

Johnson finished with five saves for the Mustangs in the 2-1 win over South Florida as SMU stayed undefeated in The American

Rookie of the Week

Humphrey Doh, Fr., F, UAB

Doh came away with a brace for the Blazers as UAB finished with a 2-2 draw against Temple.

Weekly Honor Roll

Brigham Larsen, Jr., F Charlotte

Larsen helped guide the 49ers to a pair of wins on the week, scoring a goal in the 2-0 win over Davidson and assisting on another in the 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic.

Bernardo Dos Santos Montiero, Jr., F, FIU

Dos Santos Montiero had a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over Memphis, including the game-winning goal in the 76th minute.

Eduardo Mustre, Jr., F, FIU

Mustre scored the first goal of the game in the 2-1 win over Memphis to help the Panther improve to 2-0 in conference play.

Owen Travis, Jr., D, FIU

Travis played 90 minutes for the Panthers as the backline held Memphis to just five shots on goal in the win.

Mads Westergren, Jr., D, SMU

Westerngreen anchored the backline for SMU, allowing six shots on goal in the win over South Florida.
