American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the eighth week of the regular season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Yaxel Lendeborg, Jr., F, UAB

Lendeborg recorded a big double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds as the Blazers defeated UAB, 90-85, at home on Friday.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jordan Reid, G, South Florida

Reid recorded 13 points and four assists in the Bulls’ 73-70 win over Alabama State on Friday in Tampa.

HONOR ROLL

Nae-Quan Tomlin, Sr., F, Memphis

Tomlin recorded a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds off the bench in the Tigers’ 81-70 win over Austin Peay on Saturday in Memphis.

Chris Youngblood, Sr., G, South Florida

Youngblood dropped 26 points in the Bulls’ win over Alabama State on Friday.

Kolby King, So., G, Tulane

King helped lead the Green Wave to a win over Dillard with 22 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.

Jordan Ivy-Curry, Jr., G, UTSA

Ivy-Curry recorded 22 points, eight assists and three rebounds as UTSA defeated Prairie View A&M, 103-89, Thursday night in San Antonio.

PJ Haggerty, G, Tulsa

Haggerty scored 21 points and added four assists as the Golden Hurricane took down Southwestern Oklahoma State on Friday.
