IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 14th week of the regular season.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
C.J. Walker, Gr., F, East Carolina
Walker led the Pirates by averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in two games last week. He recorded 28 points and 10 rebounds while also scoring the game-winning bucket with four seconds left at UTSA on Saturday, February 8. He dropped 23 points and six rebounds against Rice on Wednesday, February 5.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CJ Brown, G, South Florida
Brown averaged 8.0 points and 8.0 assists in two games for the Bulls, including an 8-point, 10-assist, 5.0 rebound performance in an overtime win over Temple on Thursday night, February 6.
HONORABLE MENTION
Yaxel Lendeborg, Sr., F, UAB
Lendeborg recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals as UAB defeated North Texas on Monday, February 3 in a battle for second place in The American’s standings.
Baba Miller, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic
Miller had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Owls won at Tulsa on Saturday afternoon.
Dain Dainja, R-Sr., G, Memphis
Dainja averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 blocks as the Tigers defeated Tulsa on Wednesday and Temple on Sunday, February 9.
Jamille Reynolds, Sr., C, South Florida
Reynolds averaged 21.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocks last week for the Bulls, including a 25-point, 12-rebound, 4-block performance in a win over Temple on Thursday.
Corey Washington, Jr., F, Wichita State
Washington led the Shockers to wins over Charlotte and South Florida last week by averaging 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.
