American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the first week of the regular season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aaron Scott, Jr., G/F, North Texas

Scott averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks as the Mean Green went 2-0 to start the season. Scott opened the season with a 26-point, 7-rebound performance in a win over Northern Iowa.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jayden Reid, G, South Florida

Reid nearly recorded a triple-double with 11 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in the Bulls’ season-opening win over South Carolina State on Thursday.

HONOR ROLL

RJ Felton, Jr., G, East Carolina

Felton averaged 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in two Pirate wins, including a 30-point, 11-rebound performance against Campbell.

Vladislav Goldin, Jr., C, Florida Atlantic

Goldin recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and four steals in the Owls’ win over Loyola Chicago in Chicago.

Jahlil White, R-Jr., G, Temple

White posted two double-doubles and averaged 18.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in two Temple victories last week.

Kevin Cross, Sr., F, Tulane

Cross averaged 20.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in a pair of Green Wave wins.

Cobe Williams, Gr., G, Tulsa

Williams and the Golden Hurricane started the season 2-0 with the guard averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
