IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, February 9.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Gabriel Moronta, Sr., South Florida
Moronta set a program record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.04. It is the 12th fastest time in the NCAA this season and is the top time in The American this year.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Kobe Babin, Sr., South Florida
Babin broke the school record in pole vault, clearing a height of 5.56 meters. It is the 9th best mark in the nation this year and leads The American.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Shadae Findley, R-Sr., UTSA
Findley set the program record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.29 seconds. It is the 42nd time in the NCAA and top time in The American. She was also part of the 4×400 team that broke the school record with a time of 3:39.18.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Ida Breigan, So., UTSA
Breigan tied her top mark in the conference this year in long jump with a distance of 6.50 meters. It is the 10th best mark in the NCAA and leads The American.
