IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly golf honors.
Men’s Golf Player of the Week
Justin Matthews, Jr. – Charlotte
Matthews finished in second place at the Gators Invitational after competing in the playoffs with Florida’s Ian Gilligan. Matthews shot 8-under 202 in the tournament, shooting under par in each round (69-64-69). He finished with 13 birdies over three rounds and defeated eight of the Top 100 ranked golfers in the nation.
