IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s monthly golf honors for the month of October.
Men’s Golf Player of the Month
Conor Gough, Jr. – Charlotte
Gough turned in a pair of podium finished in the month of October at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. The junior finished in 3rd place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in a field that featured seven Top 25 teams in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Gough shot a five-under 211 at the tournament and followed up with another third-place finish at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, shooting a nine-under 207. In two tournaments, Gough held a 69.7 stroke average.
Women’s Golf Player of the Month
Melanie Green, Sr., – South Florida
Green finished with two podium finished during the month of October, while holding a 69 stroke average across two tournaments. She finished in third place at the Dale McNamara Invitational, shooting an eight-under 208 while facing 10 ranked teams in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. She followed up with a second-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla., shooting a ten-under 206.
