DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – An enhanced media coverage plan is in place as the 2019 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama begins its
ninth season of competition.
As in years past, full coverage of the IMSA-sanctioned series can be found across IMSA’s various media platforms, including its social media
platforms on Twitter (@IMSA), Facebook (IMSA) and Instagram
(@imsa_racing), news on its website (IMSA.com) and contributions to its weekly newsletter.
Porsche Canada has reached agreements with a number of media outlets north of the border to further bolster GT3 Cup Canada’s reach around
the country and North America as the 2019 season begins. Inside Track
Motorsport News (insidetracknews.com) and Pole-Position Magazine
(poleposition.ca) will bring enhanced coverage of the series’ 12 races,
which will occur across six event weekends from May through
September.
There also will be a new revamped series Facebook page – Porsche GT3
Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama – which will follow its namesake
series, and follow Porsche in motorsports competition around the globe.
Contracts are being finalized with TSN and RDS contracts for select race
television broadcasts, with details on live streaming also coming soon.
And as with all IMSA series, races will be posted in full following their
television air date on the IMSA YouTube page (“IMSA Official”).
“Thanks to the efforts of everyone at Porsche Canada, Yokohama and
IMSA, we couldn’t be more pleased to offer our Canadian fans additional ways to consume GT3 Cup Canada content,” said Vice President, IMSA
Marketing, David Pettit. “The expanded variety and level of media
coverage this year is a testament to the quality of the on-track product.
“We’re seeing an increase in drivers and teams from Canada competing
not only in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, but also
throughout our Challenge series. GT3 Cup Canada has been a proven
stepping stone and part of that is because of how the media is
recognizing the talent of its teams and drivers.”
The 2019 GT3 Cup Canada season begins at the annual Victoria Day
SpeedFest on May 17 – 19 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Tickets are available at www.canadiantiremotorsportpark.com.
To follow news and updates throughout the year, fans are encouraged to visit IMSA.com andPorsche.com/Canada, as well as join the social media conversation using #GT3Canada.
