Do you believe in Magic?

Do you believe in magic?

Recently, I was out of town at a training retreat. When I arrived at the resort for the training which took place over three days, I discovered I was the first of four to check-in. One by one, my roommates began to arrive. Our first evening together was going to be an introduction to people we didn’t know, yet we would be sharing a room together. Once everyone arrived, we all shared a lot about who we are, why we came to this training and what we hoped to learn.

The training included three long 10-hour days, and we hardly got to see each other until the end of the day or in the morning while getting ready. In these moments, we quickly shared our experiences. Oddly, things seemed to be status quo- same old, same old for all of us.

It wasn’t the same though. By the end of day three, one of our roommates had magically become a beautiful blossom, someone who had somehow waved a magic wand to become an even more beautiful version of herself! It is not something I can explain other than what I experienced; however, after the training was behind us, what I had seen with my own eyes was confirmed in a letter this roommate wrote to the rest of us.

Something magic had occurred for her over those few days. A magical transformation that took her from wherever she felt stuck to a feeling of new beginnings. I had witnessed this transformation and it was truly magical.

On the first day I had arrived, I had found a pine cone (left) in the parking lot of the resort I stayed at for this retreat. I had put it in my rental car in the cup holder because it was kind of cool looking. After the retreat. I stayed a few extra days to visit some family and friends. The day after I received the beautiful letter from my roommate, I was heading to visit family, when I got in the rental car to discover the pine cone (right) had opened itself like a beautiful blossom from the sun coming through the window. It was amazing to see this pine cone that had been laying lifelessly on the pavement in a parking lot suddenly blossom days later with new life. The pine cone and my new friend experienced a magical transformation over those few days. Coincidence? I wonder.

Have you ever felt stuck? Have you ever believed change is impossible?

So, I have to ask…
