EL PASO, Texas – Coming off a thrilling 76-68 victory at UTSA on Thursday night, UAB looks to make it a Texas sweep when they visit UTEP on Saturday night. The game will stream live on ESPN+ and has a tipoff time of 8 p.m. (CT)/7 p.m. (MT).

The series began in 1987 when UAB participated in the Sun Bowl Classic in El Paso. Almost 18 years later, the teams met again after UTEP joined Conference USA. UAB leads the series 11-9 and 10-8 in C-USA games. The Blazers and Miners met in the 2006 C-USA Championship in semifinal round in Memphis – a 63-60 UAB victory.

UTEP (13-9, 4-5 C-USA) is coming off a 67-66 victory over Middle Tennessee on Thursday night. Bryson Williams is second in C-USA averaging 19.0 points per game. He is fifth in the league with 7.0 rebounds per game. The Miners are 11-1 at the Don Haskins Center this season with their only setback coming on Jan. 11 against LA Tech, 64-61.

Lewis Sullivan registered his third career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in UAB’s 76-63 victory over UTEP on Jan. 17, 2019. The Blazers outscored the Miners 47-31 in the second half to pull away for the victory.
