BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s baseball team downed Saint Thomas University (Fla.) on Friday afternoon, claiming a 5-3 victory on Opening Day.

STATS OF THE GAME:
· Newcomer Liam O’Regan went 2-for-4 at the dish with a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.
· Trevor Romeo had two hits, two runs scored and a walk, homering in the fourth inning.
· Philip Quinn started and threw an efficient 5.2 innings, surrendering just three earned runs and striking out four.
· Kendrick Pico earned the win (1-0) as he finished off the final 3.1 innings, giving up just one hit while striking out two.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· The Blue and White pick up just their third January win since 1993 and improve to 3-6 during that period.
· The Fighting Knights have now won four straight home openers.
· Lynn avenges a 17-0 loss suffered at the hands of the Bobcats on Feb. 19, 2019.
