DENVER (March 30, 2026) — Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar is launching the ‘Double Impact’ initiative for the 2026 season, turning his on-field performance into direct support for pediatric health, education, and youth well-being programs in underserved communities through his foundation, Bases Loaded.

The initiative follows Tovar’s standout role in Team Venezuela’s championship win at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, solidifying an important moment in his career.

Throughout the season, each double hit by Tovar will generate a $1,000 donation, which will be matched by the Colorado Rockies Foundation, turning key moments on the field into significant impact off it. Funds will benefit programs at Children’s Hospital Colorado and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver.

“For me, this goes far beyond baseball. With Bases Loaded, I want every achievement on the field to translate into real impact for children and communities that need it most. It’s a project that combines my passion for the sport with my desire to generate opportunities in education, health, and personal development, showing that playing can also change lives,” said Tovar.

“Double Impact” is part of the Bases Loaded Foundation, Tovar’s philanthropic platform focused on supporting high-impact programs led by organizations with proven experience. Beyond financial support, Tovar will actively participate during the season through hospital visits, community initiatives, and youth engagement programs.

“I want my career to be measured not only by statistics on the field, but also by the impact I can generate off it. Inspiring, supporting, and opening doors for the next generation is just as important as any sporting achievement. Being a Major League player also means being an example and a channel for opportunity,” he concluded.

Tovar founded Bases Loaded Foundation in 2024 to advance programs in health, education, and child well-being. In its first year, the foundation helped more than 1,200 children through pediatric clinics, STEM initiatives, food programs, and infrastructure improvements at Hospital Central in Maracay, Venezuela.

Today, Tovar continues to establish himself as one of baseball’s most promising young stars, combining his growth on the field with an increasing commitment off it. After his international triumph with Venezuela and steady rise in Major League Baseball, the Venezuelan shortstop projects a career marked by both sporting excellence and community impact.
