The Bulls win the first game of the doubleheader 15-1, and the second game 9-2.
TAMPA, Fla. (March 7, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball (13-3) swept Southern University (4-11) in the three-game series, including a doubleheader. The Bulls beat their second-highest-scoring game of the season, a game after setting it.
South Florida took Game 1 of the doubleheader quickly in just seven innings, winning 15-1. That is now the second-highest runs scored in a game this season for the Bulls.
A four-run third and five-run fifth inning would account for nine of the 15 runs in the game. Matt Rose was a prominent bat for South Florida, with three hits in four at-bats, and he scored two runs. Nathan Earley extended his reached base streak to 12, but did not play in the second game of the doubleheader.
Starting on the mound for South Florida in Game 1 was Michael Senay, who earned his second win of the season. Senay dealt five strikeouts while giving up three hits, a run, and one walk. Jonah Sarabia finished the final two innings of the game, recording just one strikeout.
The Bulls remained dominant in game two of the day and three of the series, defeating Southern 9-2. Juan Correa got the start at first and had three hits and three RBIs, including the fifth home run of the season for South Florida.
Landen Yorek made the start on the mound in game two and threw four innings. Kaden Smith came in to relieve Yorek in the fifth and went on to pitch 3.2 innings, earning himself his first win of the season while recording eight strikeouts. Dominic Pontbriant finished the final 1.1 innings. Bulls pitching totaled 10 strikeouts in the game and gave up five hits.
Ryan Pruitt stole four bases on the day between both games. Jevin Relaford, Bradke Lohry, and Jacob Green all stole two on the day.

• Bulls pitching recorded 16 strikeouts on the day between both games.
• Juan Correa hit his 29th career home run.

Notable alumni include two-time MLB All-Star and 2018 first-round draft pick Shane McClanahan. Bulls have earned All-America honors 12 times and Freshman All-America recognition 19 times.
