RICE REMAINS LONE UNBEATEN

Sitting at 11-0 and winners of 16 straight games, the Rice Owls remain the lone unbeaten team in conference play this season. They defeated North Texas on Saturday and host Wichita State on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

Boxing out

Megan Nestor of North Texas has 316 rebounds on the season (1st in the NCAA). She needs 102 to tie the American single season record. She’s also averaging 13.7 rebounds per game (1st in the NCAA) and 5.6 offensive rebounds per game (1st in the NCAA). Her rebounds per game would set the single-season record.

Winning streak

The Rice Owls are one of the hottest teams in the country right now, having won 15 straight games with their last loss coming in November. Their winning streak is tied for the 4th longest in the nation.

CLINCHING SPOTS

The 2026 American Conference Women’s Basketball Championship is officially under one month away with first round games beginning on Tuesday, March 10. Rice was the first team to clinch a spot in the championship with their win over North Texas. East Carolina can join with a win on Saturday, or a loss from Tulane or Memphis.

American in the net

Two American teams rank in the top 100 of the NCAA NET rankings.  Rice leads the way with a NET ranking of 64, while South Florida is just behind at 76.
