UF WGOLF | Megan Propeck earns invite to Augusta National Women’s Amateur

The prestigious event is from April 1-4 as Propeck marks a Gator in every ANWA tournament.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Florida women’s golfer Megan Propeck has earned the prestigious honor of playing in this year’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Propeck will make her first appearance in the annual event that was created in part by UF alum and current Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley, who announced the commencement of the ANWA in 2018 with the inaugural event beginning in 2019.

A two-time All-American selection last year, she joined the Gators this season after four years at Virginia. In the fall, Propeck won her first collegiate event at the OU Intercollegiate by four shots and final round of 67 (-3). She currently leads the team in top-10 finishes with four.

Creating the only event played by women on the prestigious course and home of The Masters. The event features the top-72 amateurs and was established to inspire greater interest and participation in the women’s game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for these players to fulfill their dreams.

Beginning the week prior to the 90th Masters Tournament, the international field will compete across 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players taking place after 36 holes. The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2.

The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round on Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the competitors who made the cut.

In 2024, Maisie Filler captured the best finish by a Gator all-time at T8, as the previous was T10 from Sierra Brooks in 2019.
