| 10/24/2025 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic redshirt freshman Mauricio Hinds grew up a fan of hockey, learning to skate on his family’s pond. On Saturday, the Porters Lake, Nova Scotia native will don shoulder pads and cleats instead of skates when he and teammates take the field for the Owls’ football contest American Conference contest against Navy, scheduled for 3:30 p.m The game will air on CBS Sports Network. Hinds, who received little formal football training until joining the Owls in 2024, redshirted a year ago and has now seen action in every 2025 contest. Tabbed by Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley as one of the players who has improved the most since he assumed the helm of the program last December, Hinds first gained playing time on special teams.
