THREE-WAY TIE
The top of the standings in the American or tight as we head into the backstretch of conference play. Through eight games, three teams are tied in first place with a 7-1 record – Tulsa, Rice and South Florida. Rice is riding a seven-match winning streak, while Tulsa holds a six-match winning streak.
TWO-BEST RECORDS FACE OFF IN REMATCH
Sunday afternoon will feature two of the top teams in the conference at 7-1 South Florida heads to Charlotte to take on the 6-2 49ers. The Bulls swept Charlotte last weekend in Tampa, ending a four-match winning streak for the 49ers.

Two American teams rank in the Top 5 in the nation in digs per set. Charlotte enters the week ranking 4th in the country in digs per set with 17.64 while Tulane is 5th in the nation with 17.56 digs per set. Charlotte’s four-time conference defensive player of the week winner Annika Thompson is 4th in the nation with 5.26 digs per set.
OFFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT
Tulsa has been impressive on offensive this year, ranking in the top 10 in the nation in kills per set (7th – 14.35) and assists per set (9th – 13.40). Senior setter Brayden Hipp has paced the Golden Hurricane with 716 total assists – 21st most in the nation.
NCAA RPI Report
Three American programs rank in the top 50 in the latest NCAA RPI Report. South Florida leads all teams, ranking 41st with Rice just behind at 42. Tulsa rounds out the trio at No. 48.
