The Mesa Solar Sox, led by Marlins Field Coordinator Aaron Leanhardt serving as Manager, posted a 3-3 record last week in the Arizona Fall League and are 4-6 overall through two weeks into the season. Following a scheduled off-day on Monday, the club will resume with a doubleheader on Tuesday vs. Salt River, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET, which is the result of last week’s postponement due to Hurricane Priscilla. Below are highlights of Miami Marlins’ prospects in the AFL from last week:
- Starlyn Caba (Miami’s #6 prospect per MLB Pipeline): Reached base in all four games played with a .368 OBP while going 2×14 at the plate with four walks.
- P.J. Morlando (Miami’s #14 prospect per MLB Pipeline): Played in four games for the Solar Sox and went 2×16 with one run scored and three RBI.
- Karson Milbrandt (Miami’s #18 prospect per MLB Pipeline): Received the loss in his only start on Oct. 16, a 6-2 defeat at Peoria, after he was charged with one earned run on one hit, three hits and seven strikeouts in 3.0 innings. - Fenwick Trimble (Miami’s #26 prospect per MLB Pipeline): Reached base in all four games played while batting .200 (3×15) with three runs scored, one double, and one RBI.
- Holt Jones: Earned his first save of the AFL season on Oct. 18, in Mesa’s 7-5 win over Glendale (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R/0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K). Made two appearances where he did not allow a baserunner in 2.0 innings of relief.
- Aiden May: Earned a no-decision in his only start this week in Mesa’s 7-5 victory on Oct. 18 at Glendale. Allowed one earned run on one hit, one walk and three strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched.
- Darwin Rodriguez: Made two appearances this out of the bullpen for the Solar Sox where he tossed 3.0 hitless innings of relief with one walk and three strikeouts. On the season owns a 1-0 record with a 2.25 ERA (1 ER/4.0 IP), two hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

- OF Griffin Conine played in two games last week with Tigres Del Licey and went 2×6 with three runs scored, one RBI, and two walks.

- INF Maximo Acosta (Miami’s #23 prospect per MLB Pipeline): Played four games for Tiburones De La Guaira last week, which included hits over his last three games.  He produced a .389/.400/.667 (7×18) offensive slash line with four runs scored, two doubles, one grand slam, five RBI, one walk and two stolen bases.

- INF Jared Serna collected base hits in all four games last week with Charros de Jalisco while posting a .636 batting average (7×11) with four runs scored, two doubles, two triples, two RBI and three walks.
