Christian McCaffrey, Micah Parsons & Sam Martin Named Week 7 NFC Players of the Week

NEW YORK — Oct. 22, 2025 — San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Micah Parsons and Carolina Panthers punter Sam Martin are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 7 (October 16, 19-20).

OFFENSE: RB CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

  • McCaffrey recorded seven receptions, 201 scrimmage yards (129 rushing, 72 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns in San Francisco’s 20-10 win over Atlanta on Sunday Night Football. This marked McCaffrey’s 47th game with at least 50 receiving yards, tying Ronnie Harmon (47 games) for the third-most games with at least 50 receiving yards by a running back in the Super Bowl era. Only Larry Centers (55 games) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk (50) have more.
  • This is the third-career Offensive Player of the Week award for McCaffrey and ties Garrison Hearst (three times) for third-most by a 49ers running back, trailing only Frank Gore (five) and Roger Craig (four).

  • McCaffrey is one of two former Stanford players to win Offensive Player of the Week since 2000 (Andrew Luck – five-time winner).

DEFENSE: DL MICAH PARSONS, GREEN BAY PACKERS

  • Parsons recorded five tackles, four tackles for loss and a career-high three sacks in Green Bay’s 27-23 win at Arizona. This marked Parsons’ 16th career game with at least two sacks, tied with T.J. Watt for the fifth-most such games by a player in his first five seasons since 1982. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers Reggie White (24 games), Richard Dent (19) and Jared Allen (17) as well as J.J. Watt (21) have more.
  • This is the fourth-career Defensive Player of the Week award for Parsons and first as a Packer. Parsons is the third Packers defensive lineman to earn the honor in the past 20 seasons (2006-25), joining Aaron Kampman (twice) and Dean Lowry.

SPECIAL TEAMS: P SAM MARTIN, CAROLINA PANTHERS

  • Martin had six punts – including tied for the league-best four inside the 20, with one inside the 10 and one inside the five – with a league-long of 68 and an average of 46 yards in the Panthers’ 13-6 win at the Jets.
  • This is Martin’s fourth-career Special Teams Player of the Week award and first as a Panther. Martin is the fifth Panthers punter to earn the honor, joining Ken Walter (Week 3, 1997), Todd Sauerbrun (Week 6, 2001), Jason Baker (Week 5, 2009) and Joseph Charlton (Week 16, 2020).
