  • Through eight weeks of the 2025 season, the American has five teams that have secured bowl eligibility. Only the SEC (six) has more bowl-eligible teams among FBS conferences.
  • UAB scored its fifth win against a top-25 opponent in program history and its first since 2021 (against No. 13 BYU) with Saturday’s victory against No. 22 Memphis.
  • South Florida has averaged 57.0 points in its last four games.
  • Tulane is off to a 3-0 start in American Conference play for the fourth consecutive season. The Green Wave has won 20 of its last 21 regular-season conference games.
  • North Texas has scored at least 30 points in all seven games this season. The Mean Green has scored at least 50 points three times.
  • North Texas has scored points in 25 consecutive quarters, including overtime periods.
  • Memphis saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end. The Tigers entered Saturday tied with Ohio State for the nation’s longest active winning streak.
  • Memphis scored at least 20 points for the 47th consecutive game, the nation’s longest active streak.
  • Navy, which was idle this week, now has the nation’s second-longest active winning streak at nine games. The Midshipmen trail only Ohio State, which won its 11th straight on Saturday.
  • Navy will enter Week 9 as one of six unbeaten teams in FBS (Ohio State, BYU, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Indiana).
  • Temple snapped a streak of 21 consecutive road losses in conference games with its 49-14 win at Charlotte. The Owls’ last road win in conference play was a 17-7 victory at South Florida Nov. 7, 2019.
