Bijan Robinson, Jamel Dean & Ryan Fitzgerald Named Week 6 NFC Players of the Week

NEW YORK — Oct. 15, 2025 — Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean and Carolina Panthers kicker Ryan Fitzgerald are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 6 (October 9, 12-13).

OFFENSE: RB BIJAN ROBINSON, ATLANTA FALCONS

  • Robinson totaled six receptions, 238 scrimmage yards (170 rushing, 68 receiving) and a rushing touchdown in Atlanta’s 24-14 victory over Buffalo on Monday Night Football. It marked the only performance with at least 110 rushing yards and 60 receiving yards in Week 6 and his 81-yard touchdown run was the longest play from scrimmage last week.
  • This is Robinson’s first-career Player of the Week Award, becoming the first Falcons running back to earn the honor since Cordarrelle Patterson (Week 3, 2022). Robinson was also named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September earlier this season.
  • Robinson is the second former University of Texas running back to win Offensive Player of the Week in the past 10 seasons (2016-25), joining D’Onta Foreman (Week 16, 2022).

DEFENSE: CB JAMEL DEAN, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

  • Dean recorded four tackles, a sack, forced fumble and interception in Tampa Bay’s 30-19 victory over San Francisco. It marked the first performance with a sack, forced fumble and interception by an NFC player this season.
  • This is the first career Defensive Player of the Week Award for Dean, becoming the first Buccaneers cornerback to earn the honor since Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronde Barber (Week 1, 2012).
  • Dean becomes the second former Auburn cornerback to win Defensive Player of the Week, joining Rod Hood (Week 5, 2007).

SPECIAL TEAMS: K RYAN FITZGERALD, CAROLINA PANTHERS

  • Fitzgerald converted all three of his field goal attempts – including one from 55 yards – as well as all three of his point-after attempts in Carolina’s 30-27 victory over Dallas. His 55-yard field goal marked the longest in the NFC in Week 6.
  • This is Fitzpatrick’s first-career Player of the Week Award, becoming the third Panthers rookie to earn the honor in the past 10 seasons (2016-25), joining kicker Joey Slye (Week 4, 2019) and punter Joseph Charlton (Week 16, 2020).
  • Fitzgerald becomes the fifth former Florida State kicker to win Special Teams Player of the Week, joining Sebastian Janikowski (eight-time winner), Graham Gano (five), Dustin Hopkins (five) and Roberto Aguayo.
