BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books with five former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action. Here’s a rundown of how each performed during the fifth week (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):
Active Owls (5)
#0 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | Houston Texans
– Al-Shaair collected four tackles and, for the second week in a row, recorded a pass breakup. Houston picked up their biggest win of the season with a 44-10 route over the Baltimore Ravens.
Texans’ Record: 1-3
Next Game: Al-Shaair and the Texans will be on a bye before regrouping for a primetime Monday night showdown against the Seattle Seahawks on October 20.
#88 Harrison Bryant | TE | Houston Texans
– Bryant was also busy in the Texans’ 44-10 win, making his second start of the season and tying his season high in snaps with 19. He was targeted twice and made his first catch of the year, a five-yard pickup for a first down that set up an eventual Texans score. On Friday, Oct. 11, Bryant will return to Paradise for his induction into the FAU Athletics’ Hall of Fame Class of 2025, where he will also be honored in the Owls’ football game versus UAB.
Texans’ Record: 2-3
Next Game: Following a bye week, Bryant and Houston will prep for the Monday night matchup at Seattle on October 20.
#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
– Hendrickson’s active afternoon saw him log his first multi-sack game of the season. Going up against one of the league’s top offensive lines in Detroit, he took down the Lions quarterback twice. His first sack forced a fumble that was recovered by Cincinnati for the game’s first turnover. The Bengals fell to the Lions by a score of 37-24. Like Bryant, Hendrickson will make a quick visit to Boca to be inducted into the FAU Athletics’ Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2025.
Bengals’ Record: 2-3
Next Game: at Green Bay – Sunday, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)
#84 Zaire Mitchell-Paden | TE | Baltimore Ravens
– Mitchell-Paden tallied his first NFL reception, going for three yards. He saw the field for 12 snaps on offense and added 12 additional on special teams in the 44-10 loss to Houston with Al-Shaair and Bryant.
Next Game: vs. L.A. Rams – Sunday, 1 p.m. (CBS)
#26 Devin Singletary | RB | New York Giants
– “Motor” played a season high 23 snaps, carrying the ball six times for 20 yards. He also recorded a reception in the Giants’ 26-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Giants’ Record: 1-4
Next Game: vs. Philadelphia – Thursday, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)
