| 10/8/2025 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic football team will host UAB on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Flagler Credit Union Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+In addition to Family Weekend, 25 years of Florida Atlantic football will be celebrated and FAU Athletics will recognize its recent Hall of Fame inducteesOn the field, the Owls (2-3, 1-1) will look to build momentum from the previous week after picking up their first American Conference win of the season.Florida Atlantic’s aggressive offense is commanded by redshirt junior QB Caden Veltkamp, the nation’s leader in completions per game. He has continued to make a connection with his classmate and roommate WR Easton Messer. The two arrived together from their previous school and have been inseparable on the field since. Messer, coming off consecutive games with 100+ receiving yards, leads the NCAA in receptions per game.Redshirt junior LB Leon Hart Jr. is collecting tackles at a high rate for the Owls defense. He is the only Florida Atlantic player to have logged double-digit tackles in a game this season, and has done so in all three games in which he started and completed.Senior TE Michael Kirch had a breakout game in the Owls’ 27-21 win over Rice, with four catches going for 82 yards and two touchdowns, the most yards by an FAU tight end since Harrison Bryant in 2019. For his efforts, he was named a weekly honorable mention by the American Conference. Adding onto the weekly accolades, Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley was named by CBS Sports as the American’s Head Coach of the Week.
