| 9/22/2025 | Men’s Basketball BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 2025-26 edition of the Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team took to the court on Monday afternoon for the first official practice of the season. Donning their blue and gray practice jerseys for the first time, the Owls took part in individual drills and full-team work. Head Coach John Jakus, entering his second season at the helm of the program, welcomes a roster with 10 newcomers and five returners. The team will work for the next month ahead of a preseason exhibition against Florida Tech on Thursday, Oct. 30 at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The regular season officially opens on Monday, Nov. 3 when the Owls host Boston College.The 2025-26 season is presented by Phil Smith Kia/Phil Smith Acura. QUOTABLE Head Coach John Jakus “Today was a great day. Getting back on the court all together as a team and being able to play together is something that we are very grateful for. It was the return of being able to do something that we all love.” Redshirt Sophomore Guard Devin Vanterpool “Being back out there today for the first official day felt great. It means we are one step closer to lacing up for a game. I am looking forward to turning up the Elly for another season!” Sophomore Guard Isaiah Elohim “Today was a great first day. We have been working hard since we got here this summer. I believe this team has done a great job at building team chemistry early.” Junior Guard Kanaan Carlyle “It was a great first day. We have been grinding since the summer together to make sure today would be great.
