All four Gators made it to the final match of Pre-Qualifiers, but Jefferson and Timini are the only ones to advance in the singles portion of the tournament.
TULSA, Okla. – The Pre-Qualifiers stage ends with two Gators moving on to Qualifiers for singles. Henry Jefferson makes it to the next round after remaining undefeated in the tournament and Andreas Timini will continue on to Qualifiers after another player withdrew from the tournament. Both will continue their singles run in the Round of 64 Monday, Sept. 22.
Kevin Edengren and Timini both finished up their runs in Pre-Qualifiers falling in the Round of 40. Edengren lost to William Manning of NC State and Timin fell to Andrej Loncarevic of LSU.
Tanapatt Nirundorn’s singles run for the tournament ended by falling to Romain Gales of Clemson in two sets. Nirundorn’s time at the ITA Regional Championships is not over, with his doubles play beginning tomorrow with Jefferson as his partner. The duo comes into the season ranked at No. 33 by the ITA, and will play their first match of the fall season Monday, Sept. 22.
Timini’s match will take place against No. 98 Keegan Rice of Virginia at 11 a.m. EST and Jefferson’s first match will be against No. 89 Sasha Rozin of Arizona at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Nirundorn and Jefferson’s match will be against the pair from Texas A&M, Togan Tokac and Tiago Pires at 5 p.m. EST.
