CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team fell to the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Cobb Stadium.
Duke prevailed to 6-1-1 and 1-1 in the ACC, while Miami fell to 5-3-1 and 0-2 in conference play.
Miami goalkeeper Emily Bredek secured four saves to keep the match scoreless going into the half, while Duke notched six shots to Miami’s one shot fro, Teegan Melenhorst.
The Blue Devils tallied the match’s first goal as Mia Minestrella scored at the 72:27 mark. Despite a few late opportunities, the Hurricanes fell at home for the first time this season.
Miami will hit the road for four consecutive away matches. Next up is a non-conference match vs. VCU on Thursday in Richmond, Va.
