TAMPA, Fla., June 25, 2025 — The University of South Florida women’s basketball team has been announced as one of seven confirmed participants in the 2025 Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, as revealed by bdG Sports on Wednesday.
Hosted at the luxurious Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center in Nassau, Bahamas, the tournament is scheduled to take place Monday, Nov. 24, and Wednesday, Nov. 26. The Bulls join a competitive eight-team field, with the final team to be announced in the coming weeks.
Alongside South Florida, the current field includes Alabama, Belmont, Harvard, Minnesota, Ohio State, and West Virginia. All seven confirmed programs reached postseason play in 2024-25, with five – including USF – advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
“Opportunities like the Pink Flamingo Championship are huge for our program,” said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “We’re excited to compete against some of the best teams in the country in a setting that provides great national exposure. This will be another chance to elevate our brand, challenge our team early in the season, and represent South Florida on a big stage.”
Once the field is finalized, the event will be split into two four-team divisions, each crowning its own champion. Matchups and tip-off times will be announced at a later date. All games will be streamed live.
USF enters the 2025-26 season following a strong 2024-25 campaign in which the Bulls finished 23-11 overall and captured their fourth American Athletic Conference championship, winning the post-season tournament. The Bulls went 13-4 in league play and made their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance under Fernandez, who enters his 26th season at the helm. It marked the program’s 14th straight 19-win season and 12th 20-win season under his leadership.
This announcement adds to one of the nation’s most exciting non-conference schedules for the Bulls. USF recently announced home matchups at the Yuengling Center against Duke (Nov. 20), UConn (Dec. 3), and South Carolina (Dec. 18), as three teams that finished last season ranked in the Associated Press Top 25, including two 2025 NCAA Final Four participants and last year’s national champion, come to Tampa.
