Puerto Rico has given me so much. I am so humbled to have the opportunity to represent my homeland once again. I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in the small town of Aguadilla and Isabella, Puerto Rico. Giving back to my country and my community is something I have always wanted to do. I am extremely honored to be the captain of our Davis Cup team. I have done very little for what my people deserve, and I am excited to get involved once again. Our sport has always had a ton of talented athletes, and it is very important that we continue to promote our sport. We need to do more for our island. This includes me and everyone else who has played a role in this sport in Puerto Rico. I am extremely humbled by everyone who has paved the way through this journey. Jorge and Gustavo Gonzalez, Cholo Almonte, Mickey Nieves, all my Davis Cup coaches, the PRTA for trusting in me, and last but not least, the best mentor and coach I ever had, my dad; Ricardo Gonzalez, who introduced the sport to me, taught me and many others to become the best tennis players in Puerto Rico, the United States, and the world. I am humbled to give back to this young generation, parents and grandparents. We have strong roots, and we are extremely proud to be Puerto Ricans. I am excited to see our boys fight their tails off and make our country proud. I am ready to battle with this group.” FORMAT The two pools of four teams will crown a pool winner who will automatically be promoted to the World Group II playoffs, to be held in 2026.
